STUDENTS’ PERCEPTIONS IN LEARNING LISTENING

One of the English skills that students have to be comprehended is listening. Listening plays an important role in learning English. This article describes on answers about investigating into students’ perceptions regarding listening comprehension at Senior High School Muhammadiyah Luwuk. It used descriptive qualitative and interview collecting data. The major problems emphasized by were dealing with skill more difficult than other teacher gave them monotonous activities material too long (conversation monologue) made feel hard comprehend meaning material. In addition, most thought related their feeling anxiety, unable focus when answer listen same time, poor quality tapes recording, unfamiliar words. Furthermore, was very because memory problem remembering material, noisy surrounding, high speed delivery text, unclear pronunciation from native speakers obstacles many encountered lack vocabulary.
